Monday 15th August is this year's final deadline for applications for PRS for Music Foundation funding opportunities, which includes Festivals, New Works, Organisations, Performance Groups and Promoters. There will be no October deadline this year.
New funding opportunities will be launched in January 2012.
PRS aims are to stimulate and support the creation and performance of new music in the UK to ensure it reaches a wide audience. It also supports public debate about creative music-making in the UK, for example through ground-breaking projects such as the New Music Award. Over the past 10 years PRS has proved a significant force in supporting pioneering and cutting edge musical activity in the UK. Since March 2000 it has supported over 4,000 new music initiatives with over £14 million in funding.
All applications must be submitted online at
http://www.prsformusicfoundation.com/funding/index.htm. You must include details of all the new British music you intend to perform, programme or support, even if it is not yet confirmed. Any unconfirmed activity should be marked as 'tbc' on the application form.
