Antalya Film Festival announces international jury
Istvan Szabo, President of the jury and Oscar-winning director
Turkey’s most prestigious film festival, the Antalya Film Festival, has announced the 5 jury members who will be judging its International Feature Film Competition alongside the President of the jury, Oscar-winning director Istvan Szabo.

Joining Szabo will be Claudie Ossard, a French producer who has been involved in many well-known films including Amelie, Delicatessen and Arizona Dream. Ossard has also had the privilege of working alongside many famous names such as Jacques Tati and Martin Scorsese.

Turkish actress Belcim Bilgin is also taking up the role of juror this year. Bilgin is best known for her performance in Cannes Best Short Film winner Silent, and for a string of other titles including Zero Kilometers, Pains of Autumn and Love Likes Coincidences.

Another Turkish actor joining the judging panel is Cem Ozer. Apart from acting in films such as Berlin Berlin, Where Are You, Firuze? and Adam’s Trains, Ozer is a well-known presence in Turkey, having hosted a popular Turkish chat show since 1991.

Leading Dutch cinema figure Jacques van Heijningen is sure to be a welcome presence on the panel, as he brings with him a wealth of experience in the film festival circuit, having served as the Director of the Dutch Film Festival. He is also the founder of the Rotterdam Film Commission.

Polish film critic Barbara Hollender makes up this year’s judging panel. Hollender is a member of The International Federation of Film Critics and has profiled more than 300 film directors including Pedro Almodovar, Woody Allen, Robert Altman and David Lynch.

The 49th International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival is taking place from 6-12 October in the city of Antalya.

The winners of the International Feature Film Competition will be announced at the festival’s closing night on 12 October. The films nominated in the category include entries from Europe, Middle East, and Central Asia.
