Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals coming to Wii
Koch Media recently announced a new Wii game based on the musicals of Andrew Lloyd Webber. Andrew Lloyd Webber Musicals: Sing & Dance will be released on September 14, and features 32 songs from 13 Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals. The game will also feature the talents of Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman, Donny Osmond, Elaine Paige and Boyzone.

"This is a fabulous signing for us," Sales & Marketing Director at Koch Media Paul Nicholls said. "Andrew Lloyd Webber and his creations are a British institution that have been enjoyed by generations across the world. The chance to bring this product to market for the Nintendo Wii is both an honour and hugely exciting."

Of the 32 songs featured in the game, many will be ones from Webber’s most famous musicals including The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph & The Amazing Technicolour Dreamboat.

The game will feature three playing levels including "sing", "dance" or "career", which will allow users to perform the famous songs either alone or compete against friends and family.

Thanks to the three playing modes, users will be able to focus exclusively on their dancing or singing skills, or jump straight into the deep end and incorporate both into a performance as all musical theatre performers do.

A famed composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber has achieved success with many of his musical theatre shows including The Phantom of the Opera, which has become the longest-running Broadway show and the second longest-running West End musical and is widely considered the most financially successful entertainment show in the world.

Webber’s success have seen him become the recipient of seven Tony Awards, three Grammy Awards, six Oliviers, one Golden Globe, one Academy Award and one International Emmy. More recently, the composer has taken to coaching young musical theatre performers through the reality television series Superstar, where he took part in a judging panel which embarked on a search for a young performer to take on the lead role of Jesus in Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar during its UK arena tour next month.

Andrew Lloyd Webber Musicals: Sing & Dance will be released on September 14 and is compatible with all Nintendo approved USB microphones.
